Salvia Divinorum Now Illegal in Oklahoma
Posted by admin on Jun 22 2008
Gov. Brad Henry signed House Bill 3148 into law. Which means sorry Oklahoma readers, Salvia is banned in your state from now on. Police chief Jonathon Wells said “educating people about the dangers of using salvia is also of importance as well as enforcing the new law.”
Really? What would those dangers be? For 15 minutes the person is high, yes. But could this not be covered by responsible use? Having a sitter is something nearly any advocate of hallucinogens will bring up. Same as a designated driver is necessary at a bar.
It’s a shame that Oklahoma had to make such an uneducated law. But hey, if it’s a drug that’s not prescribed or alcohol, it must be bad for you, right? And that’s the government’s business anyways?
Guess it’s time to update the list of places were salvia is legal.
