Massachusets Anti-Salvia Bill Passes the House

Just a quick update on the legal status of salvia. Apparently a massachusets bill trying to outlaw the drug as “dangerous” despite no research showing negative/dangerous side effects aside from the initial inebriation has passed their house. In fact, there’s some positive research going on. It’s not a law yet, so hopefully common sense will prevail and it will be blocked. The bill is sponsored by Republican Viriato Manuel deMacedo. Any Massachusets voters out there, I strongly encourage you to call your representatives to help fight the ban. If passed, Massachusets will be the 9th state to ban the herb.

In my home state(Michigan), this seems ridiculous given the draw our representatives like Represenative and candidate for Oakland County Prosecutor David Law seem to have not only for the much more dangerous narcotic Alcohol, but driving under the influence of it(here is the non-digg link for the article on David Law). Legislators seem to have little idea of the concept that it’s not the drug/innebriant that is the problem in nearly any case, but the actions one takes when they use it. Sorry for gettin personal in this article, the hypocracy just drives me mad (Michigan also has made moves to make it illegal).
